Wakefield Quay House is just eight metres from the sea overlooking the harbour entrance on the beautiful Nelson Waterfront.

Our 1905 colonial villa has all the goodies – queen seaview rooms with ensuites, antiques and over 40 original paintings mostly from the Nelson region. Rimu staircase and high ceilings, open fireplace and woodburner to warm by in winter, polished native timber floors downstairs and fully carpeted upstairs. We are within easy walking distance to the seafood restaurants along the waterfront.

We serve complimentary drinks, nibbles and great breakfasts using the best Nelson regional produce. Breakfast on local organic juices, freshly roasted coffee, fresh fruits and yoghurts, free range eggs and smoked salmon

All our guest rooms have fresh flowers, television & stereo (we have a large CD selection), tea & coffee, bathrobes, down duvets, electric blankets, hairdryers, heated towel rails and quality linen. Complimentary toiletries and nibbles are provided along with access to the internet and a guest fridge.

The Crow's Nest -
Private balcony with powerful WW11 German binoculars and spectacular sea views. Queen bed, New Zealand artworks and antiques. French doors to a spacious ensuite with bi-fold windows, window seat and the loo with a view!

The Captain's Cabin -
Recently renovated with sumptuous fabrics and curtains, The Captain’s has a queen bed and a large comfortable seat in the bay window with panoramic views of the harbour. French doors to a contemporary ensuite.

The Quarterdeck -
On the side of the house with sea and sunset views of Haulashore Island and Fifeshire Rock. Double bed, New Zealand artworks and paintings. Large ensuite with original 1905 cast iron bath.

We are sympathetic to unexpected itinerary changes and have a flexible cancellation policy. We do not usually apply a cancellation penalty fee but reserve the right to do so at the following rates:

• Cancellation received 7-3 days before reservation, fee 25% of total bill.
• Cancellation received 2-0 days before reservtion, fee 100% of total bill.
• No penalty fee will be charged if replacement bookings are received.
